I applied as a transfer (over 60 credits) and did not get in and here is there reason:
We regret to inform you that we cannot offer you admission to The Florida State University at this time. You have not satisfied the required milestones (courses, audition, GPA, and/or limited access review) identified for your major. For detailed information regarding your major, click here.

You may reapply to the University if you:

* Select another major for which you satisfy the required milestones.

When I talked to them before I received the decision the woman told me admissions looked at my app, and sent it to the dept of my major to make sure I have taken all of the right classes since I have over 60 credits. I looked up the requirements for my major (Biology) and I have taken all of them, I am in Organic Chem II now which was indicated on my application. It says I need calculus with geometry as well. I have taken calculus 1 and 2 and on my transcript it says "foundations of calculus" it is calculus 1 and 2 because I asked.

If I call them and mention this can they accept me?? Or is it too late? I applied for summer admissions

Thank you and I really appreciate your help

If you are not transferring in from a Florida state college, University, or community college, you have to deal with classes that “look” equivalent but that FSU does not consider equivalent. You need to call and ask them specifically to see where you were missing requirements. The state system does not have a foundations of calculus class, so I suspect it might not have been equivalent to calc 1 and calc 2. Or maybe it is, but you will have to prove it by supplying info such as syllabus and outlines, textbook chapters etc to show that you did the same work. CALL, only they can tell you.

Call them and see what they say. What are the requirements for Biology anyways? I’m trying to transfer in for the same program for Summer.

cinfid12, in another post you mention you are at a school that you have only been at for one semester, and that your GPA prior to arrival at your second school was 2.67. It may be that your GPA was also a problem.

You will just have to call and ask exactly what the problem was.

From northeastern they wont give me financial aid, and my GPA is way higher than previous and I had an appeal letter with personal reasons of why it occurred. I know the reason had to deal with some class I didn’t take because the woman over the phone told me thats the only thing left and if I didnt get in to take whatever i was missing over the summer to get in for september. This is such a pain I will call tomorrow thanks for all the help guys
