I guess i get what i should do, I'll just give my best try
I definitely need financial aid
I believe I can make it!!

Hmmm..............lots of confience and positiveness..............

Drsuyi, I am sorry to hear that you don't get to work with a counselor so do use this forum to post your questions throughout the process.

I would advise the following:

Narrow down your list to 5-7. I afraid you will not spend enough time to research the individual college and send in generic and cut-n-paste application that will only hurt your admission chance.

Address your lack of ECs. E.g. need to work because of family circumstance (if that's the case).

Think about what you are interested in pursuing anthropology and foreign languages. What got you started? Why XYZ school for that? What's your ambition/aspiration? Try to express those thoughts in your essays.

Ask your recommenders to include supporting examples/evidences for what you said in #3. In other words, do NOT send in those letters that just say "xyz is smart, diligent, bla bla bla."

Thank you so much for your advise when i'm really confused right now, I really appreciate it, thank you for your concerns!
I'll take your advise and try the best
thank you again

uhm, dallas808, that taisha forum isn't really that active, that's why i came here. I really don't find any very active chinese forum for SATs and applications, do you know any?
anyway, thank you very much

than how are you going to get in your mid year reports and stuff plus some of the college like cornell and columbia do require students to take at least 3 SAT II

No, Columbia requires only two. I wouldn't know about the others, though.

For liberal art students, Columbia requires two

Wow, 15? That's an impressive number.

For me, I keep my list down to 2. Well, the reason behind my decision to apply to only 2 colleges in the US is not only because I don't have enough time, however. There are some other personal considerations.

Still, like isaacnewton, I suggest that you narrow down your list of colleges. Of course you'll feel difficult - perhaps you may be caught in a dilemma - but I think you have to do so, in order to make sure that you spend enough time for each of your application so that they will all be great.

Good luck in selecting your best-match colleges :)

Perhapes,10 will do.......
as of SAT 2,Yale requires 3 subjects, elsewhere is 2(generally.......or may be just those colleges I have seen so far....)
I will b takin 3 subjects.........

Yes, as far as I know, most colleges require only 2 SAT Subject Tests... The ones that need 3 Subject Tests are Princeton and Yale and I don't know the rest..
