I meet with an act tutor once a week. My goal for this June ACT is a 28, but a 29 would be best, if possible. I think I can improve my math score to a 26+ if I can focus on the geometry problems I’m missing, but I need serious help on reading and science. My reading score fluctuates each time, which is very odd, because reading is the easiest for me in school–maybe I’m just not focused enough? I also think it’s the time constraints–I panic and don’t read the passage well enough. Does anyone have any tips on how to manage time during the reading?

Another major issue is my science. EVERY SINGLE TEST I’ve ever taken, whether it be official or just practice, has always been either 24 or 25, and it’s seriously making me mad. I need like a 29, but no matter how hard I try, I just can’t improve. I don’t read the passages unless I have to. I think my main problem is just the confusing graphs and overload of information, and the time constraint, of course. How can I improve my science score? I know everyone says just keep practicing, but I’ve probably done a combined 6 official and practice tests and it’s not changing, and I always finish with ~1 min left. Is there any magical tip that will help me?

There’s 13 days left until the test. If anyone has any tips to help me narrow down and improve where I’m going wrong, any information would be greatly appreciated, because at this point I’m getting desperate to improve to that one composite point.

Also–if I got a 28 or 29 on this June test, how easy/hard would it be to improve to a composite 32 for the September test?
