Hello,

I am currently a high school junior and lately I have been feeling pretty bad about my chances with any good colleges, as my GPA is not impressive and I have few extracurriculars and volunteer hours. I currently attend a selective boarding high school called the Illinois Math and Science Academy, which is supposedly so prestigious it is not listed on any high school rankings. However, after switching to this high school sophomore year, my GPA dropped dramatically and I felt I had very little spare time for clubs and volunteer opportunities. In addition, this school did not offer any AP courses that could have raised my GPA.

I have been a member of the Air Force auxiliary program called Civil Air Patrol for 5 years, in which I am currently a drill sergeant.
I have about 80 hours of recorded volunteer service through grading homework at my school and CAP volunteer events.
I won 7th place in the Illinois Yo-yo Competiton.
I am a talented artist and am interested in graphic arts.

The current colleges I am interested in are Northwestern University, University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and Johns Hopkins University. I know that most of these are a far stretch except with the exception of UIUC, but I would like to know the best Universities I could possibly be qualified for.
