How Can I Improve My Chances on a Wait list?

Hi, I got waitlisted to both Columbia University and the University of Pennsylvania. What should I do to improve my chances of being accepted off of the waiting list? If I write a brief letter to each university, what should this letter include?
Thanks

Frankly, your odds of getting in off the waitlist are about the same as they were of getting in as a regular admit.
But if you want to do what you can, write letters saying the school is your top choice and promising to enroll if admitted.
