How Can I Improve??

Hi! So, I know how important the ACT is and I want to do really well on it. I am in 10th grade now. I took the ACT last year in December and got:

Composite: 28
English: 29
Math: 32
Reading: 24
Science: 26

Math and English are pretty easy for me, but I can never seem to do very well on the Reading or Science! I didn’t read much when I was younger, so does that mean it’s going to be really hard or impossible to do well on the Reading part? I am planning to take it in a couple months, so how should I prepare from here? I want to get at least a 30 the next time I take it. Any tips, strategies, or patterns I should know to improve my Reading or Science score? I know a bunch of my friends do extremely well on the Reading part, but I always end up running out of time, and I always think there are more than one answer, which leads to me spending a bunch of time on each question. Thank You so much for your help!!

For the Reading and Science, it is important to finish in time. So, always practice with practice ACT Reading and Science portions with their time limits. Both require reading of almost everything in order to answer the questions. For the Reading, it is somewhat easier than Science because Reading has the answer directly in the text. Some would want you to figure out based on the text. For the Reading, I suggest extensive practice and when you’re doing the Reading portion, read quickly. I read a whole passage quickly before I answer its questions.

For the Science, it’s easy to run out of time because there are so many information to understand in order to answer the questions. Again, practice makes perfect. I practice almost daily, and I noticed I could finish the Science portion with time left over.

Thank You! I will practice every day with time limits. So is it still possible for me to get like a 34 on the Reading and Science sections if I practice every day even though I did not read a lot when I was younger? Any other tips from anyone? Thank you so much @eavyre and to others that comment!
