How can I make a college resume?

What should I include in it and in which order? I need a resume for college application and I have searched in google but i haven’t found anything useful. :-? Please help me!

Why do need a resume? Is it a requirement or an optional thing? Often, college applications already ask for stuff within an academic resume (GPA, Testing/Scores, ECs, etc.), so unless you’ve got extraordinary talents in the arts or business, there shouldn’t be a need to make one.

I need a resume for undergrad college application.

If I may ask, what colleges are you applying for? That way I might be able to clarify the resume portion of their applications.

Is your application requiring a resume? Usually it’s optional with the understanding that most items on a resume would be already included on the application itself. Is this a Common App school? What would be represented in the resume that wouldn’t be mentioned elsewhere?

Yes it’s a common app university.Johns Hopkins. I just think my application would look better with resume and every section completed even if it was not required.

I also think that some brown university needs one too

There really isn’t any reason to make an adcom read something twice. If you’re intent on making one, cvmkr.com is good for a basic CV. I can’t imagine what you Googled, because “resume templates” brings up dozens of helpful, relevant results. Also - judging from your previous thread, I hope you’ve included some saveties in those applications.

Ah, in which case you’re better off not submitting a resume. Resumes are only needed if you have extracurriculars that cannot be explained concisely in the application they provided you (and this is usually reserved for prestigious music events/businesses/international conferences (?) one has participated in). Often times, it’s better not to submit a resume because it can come across as self-aggrandizing.

You can always fit whatever is necessary to be explained in the EC portion application; if you can’t do that and you don’t have extraordinary ECs, then it’s probable you’re not utilizing the application to the best of your abilities.

Thanks for your help, elliebham.well I know that according to my situation I am not a bright candidate for top universities but I am applying to wide range of universities( from low to high acceptance rate). The high schools in the country I was born and lived did not offer that much non-academic extracurricular activities or clubs

Even the clubs that I am involved in are academic clubs!:))) that is so bad and not sufficient!

Thanks for your help IB scholar!

Yeah, by the way the resume for JHU is optional.

The common app has the activities list. Thats where this goes. And really- you have ONE WEEK to get these apps in for TOP SCHOOLS.

If you decide to do a resume just google “college resume admission” (or anything along those lines) and you will get a number of examples of accepted formats.
