I’m a sophomore. I’ve made a successful business in the last year that generates a decent amount of money and I come from an extremely low-income family. Everything is currently run under my mother’s name. How can I put this on my college application? Any ideas are appreciated.

Put it in as an activity and it would also make for a good essay. Just call yourself an entreprenuer/ business owner and the name of the company, then describe what you did and how much you made. If you don’t put it in an essay, you can put more info in the additional info section and say “I decided to dedicate a lot of time to starting a business to support myself and my family” as well.
I would not put it in your activity section as that is too limited on word count. If you have a successful business and want to really highlight it, I would recommend that you include it in an Additional Information section. Then you can expand upon it. You’ll want to make certain that you quantify your success as much as possible. In other words, put exactly what you do as well as the number of clients you have serviced, the revenue you have generated, the success that you can identify, etc.
Depends on how important it is to you. Obviously put it in the activity section, but if you can’t describe it all in the word count, make it your essay since it’s super unique. But you have time! You’re just a sophomore, don’t worry about applying yet.
