How can I raise my chances of getting into Vandy and similar colleges while I'm in high school?

I’m a freshman at a small private school in TN.

GPA:4.0/4.0 (Only a freshman so it can definitely change but I’m trying my best)

Of course I haven’t taken ACT yet.

EC’s:
Football
Basketball
Plan on attending NYLF engineering and technology this summer ( I’m aware that it doesn’t really do anything but it still seems fun)
(I wan’t to pick up more EC’s next year ,mainly science club and maybe Quiz Bowl, I didn’t know I was coming to this school until last minute and didn’t have time to see what was offered and sign up)
I’m a first degree black belt. (mom made me choose between football and tae kwon do so I had to drop it)
I’m pretty sure I’m able to join Beta Club next year

I’m an African American male and also my mom is a nurse at Vaderbilt.

Congrats on your 4.0! Keep up the great academic work! To raise your chances, I’d suggest joining clubs where you can obtain leadership roles and that demonstrate a passion. For instance, if you love politics- join your school’s MUN, mock trial, and debate team. If you love science- join your school’s science club or participate in science fairs. Or even better, sophomore year is the perfect time to start your own club at school if you like to. Of course, prepare early for standardized testing and choose class that challenge you.
