Hello guys,

How can i show that sciences are my *****ing passions because in france, we don't have any maths/physics clubs etc...I'm in an astronomy club but that's it...

I really want to go in the MIT, do you know some french who are in?
With a recommendation letter of a personnality, will i get in easy?( don't know any personnality)

Thank's

It’s never easy to get into MIT.

As for what you can do… I don’t know what opportunities you have around you, but it doesn’t have to be a science club or even anything science-related. What interests do you have? Art? Radio? Sports? MIT wants to see academic competence and the drive to pursue something :)

Yes, i have other interrests like photography but i don’t have a good camera and i can’t travel to take awesome pictures…
The fact that there are not many French Over There will in my favor?
I played sports before, but I had to stop because of a leg injury, do you think they will have pity on me?
A good cover letter, show that what I want to study is my passion although I’m not 18-20 (/ 20) as GPA during high school, giving lessons to young (I gives math) unofficially, to be of Arab origin living in France (therefore have a double culture, 3 with the U.S.), failure to speak Arabic, French, Moroccan, English, Spanish, all fluently, and the fact that I’m doing a alphabet for me (for my book of science fiction) will be major assets, or Will there only the GPA’s 20/20 counts?

I had to decipher your post a bit to understand :D

Considering “diversity” reasons, it may however in this case I don’t think this is a plus because France is the 7th most represented country in MIT.
[MIT | The International Students Office | Statistics 2010 - 2011](http://web.mit.edu/iso/stats_10-11/general.shtml)
Note that, there are no french undergrads according to the ISO. So it may be an advantage but still being from the 7th most represented country might be of a disadvantage.
Saying all this if admissions take diversity into account.

I assume you mean that only the people with 20/20 GPA will be considered seriously? Well… This isn’t the case however note the extremely competitive applicant pool. Why don’t you try to apply for a science fair or a competition? It would help way more than the difference between 18/20 and 20/20.

Sorry, my english is not perfect yet
There is no undergraduate french…this isn’t a plus?

It might be a plus. However there are too many grads and overall french is the 7th most represented so this may change the situation.

That *****ing sucks!

I’m certainly far from an expert (prefrosh, class of 2015), but I can speak from personal experience that you don’t need to be in all the math/science clubs to be accepted. I was on my school’s math team, but besides that, all of my resume was all theater and music stuff. Just find something that you love to do!

Yes, i play the guitar but alone…Not in a club…
