How can I stop being so lazy? I jsut speed through my homework and don't bother studying.. My dad says I'm a pretty clever, smart kid when I want to be, but I am never motivated to.. My strong point in school is math, but I am weak at English, Spanish.. I hate Science. I don't bother reading anything in my APUSH class as the book is too damn boring. My art teacher is a dick giving everybody a B, but I love playing volleyball as it is fun. I come home at class everyday at around 3, 4, or maybe 5pm and I jsut speed through homework in an hour, then I surf the web, paly games, or chat with friends online..

I am in Calculus AB AP, and I am maintaining an 85% while copying my homework answers online and not studying for tests.. I need an A in the class, but I am too lazy to do anything. I always say to myself I will study, but I never actually do it. I procrastiante until the last minute, where I barely get the A, however, I don't think I can pull it off this time in my Calc class as I think I have put myself too deep into a hole I cannot get out of.. I have under a month left in the semester(I get back like on the 5th from break nad Finals are the 30th..)

I want to get into UC Irvine in California, but I don't think I'd be able to make it.

I am taking 7 classes. Calc, APUSH, Chemistry, Spanish3, Art, English, and Volleyball. I do not even have a 3.5(weighted) and I am a choke artist when it comes to tests.

How can I stop being so lazy? I need big help..

I take issue with you cheating more so than you being lazy. I would get out of that habit. If your homework, you will do much better on the tests (especially if you're not already getting A's).

Put a picture of your dream school on the wall and look at it whenever you do your homework.

It sounds like you're "lazy" because you're not interested in your classes. That's fine. Honestly, if everyone's interests lined up exactly in one subject area like math or English, the world would be pretty boring. Maybe your true interests and aspirations lay elsewhere?

Many make the mistake that being a straight A student is everything. It's not. Most successful people were not straight A students in high school. It's perfectly healthy to want to live a little. Don't worry so much about what your grades are or what college you get into, but instead focus on finding an interest where you can hone your talents that will make you happy in life.

You sound like 85% of high school students (maybe 5% of the makeup of this site though).

I procrastinate like hell also, and I'd be lying if I said I was a shining beacon of academic integrity (so would most others on this site, but they would not admit it). I have managed to slide through HS on my ass maintaining a B+ record by not doing the homework but doing well on tests (without studying, I'm lucky in that sense).

There's no easy answer, but what you need is motivation. I don't have it, so I couldn't give you good advice on this.

do you think i can raise my grades up in just 3 weeks?

i know straight a's aren't everything, the thing is if i dont get a 3.5, i am sitting next to some annoying ass kid who i am enemies with(i feel like punching and getting into a fight and kicking his ass), and another annoying person

How much assignments you would get in 3 weeks

What grade you would get on those assignments

What would you get on your Exam.

I'm guessing if you work and stay motivated for 3 weeks, you could pull your Calc grade to at least an A-. It'll be the same for all your other classes. Of course the ones that are closer to an A- or an A you need a little less work then the ones that need a lot of work.
Motivation is always the key :/

Well now I am thinking I choked on my math test.. I don't know if I can get an A, but what should I do? What if I start studying only to know that it's all for nothing??
