Making a list of all of these books – thanks for the reccomendations!
Historical fiction…".The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, The True Story of Handel and Gretel…other excellent books, Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah, the Me Before You trilogy, Bullet for Carlos. My daughter absolutely loves As You Wish by Chelsea Sedoti or The List (Siobhan Vivian).
We all read several books per week…DD usually has three or four going at a time, so I can come up with more if you run out! Lol
For historical fiction, I love the Book Thief. I was reading it in school after a standardized test and I was trying not to bawl my eyes out in class lol. I also really like Dan Brown books- while on the longer side, they’re really interesting and I find that they make me really think about different issues/controversies.
Nah I thought the movie was good
Less on the “educated” side but I’ve found binge watching Marvel movies helps pass the time. Nineteen movies takes away 19 days (after school, homework, and a nap ;))), leaving us with about 14 days, which can be used to watch the entire Harry Potter series, all of the Matrix series, and 3 extra days for your liking. This is a science.
The Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger.
I love Marvel movies. I’m super hyped for Endgame!! I think TV shows are a great (or terrible) distraction. I love Grey’s Anatomy, Parks and Rec, and the Office
I’m currently watching The Flash, most certianly will be binging as we get closer to M9/M10. Luckly, I also have to prepare for a acapella concert (which will take up a lot of my afternoon time). Just trying to keep busy and keep a smile on my face.
I’m certainly not waiting for M9, but I love The Flash. But since I’m caught up with that, so I’m binge-watching Arrow.
I love The Flash! For some reason though, I get tired of TV shows very easily, I watch till the 3rd season max. There has only been one show that exceeded that (Scandal with season 4)
Also, my mom canceled Netflix a year ago, which was probably a very good idea, but I still miss it
Star Trek: Discovery’s got its new season running right now which is also taking up my time… such a good show
If you have Netflix, I suggest Grace and Frankie. Five seasons long and comedy gold at that. It does have a couple of adult themes, so beware. To the person who suggested Marvel, big mood! I’m just waiting for Captain Marvel since it comes one day before decisions so I know how I’m keeping myself busy
@bookmerd My mom loves that show! She won’t stop talking about it lol
@CavsFan2003 Your mom has good taste haha
Agreed. This show is really really funny.
Nothing a teenager can’t handle, and certainly no more than a typical R-rated film.
Thanks @skieurope!
Try and start a project (something that you could put on an application-worthy), it should keep you occupied
Take up golf - you will have something new, other than BS, to worry and obsess about =))
As I posted earlier, take this opportunity to clean your room, discard the trash and junk mail from schools you did not apply to, discard old art projects that your parents do not want to keep around (especially those with macaroni attached or marshmallows), get yourself and your room organized, look at YouTube videos of dorm “Cribs”, do some planning for summer, watch Ted Talks, make a list of all the things and people you are grateful for in your life.
What great advice. I’m actually spending my day tomorrow cleaning up my study, which will be quite a process as I’m bound to find some old thing I wrote in first grade and spend 1 hour obsesing over it lol
