How can I transfer from NU to Cornell?

Hey, so basically I’ll be joining NU’s community this fall but I’m not sure whether it is the right thing to do. I’ve heard that the social life there is entirely based on greek life and a bit superficial. Also although I declared my major I’m not sure what I entirely want to pursue. What I gathered from the information I got on this forum and other sites is that Northwestern is not the best choice for someone who hasn’t already sorted things out about their future. Although I am keeping an open mind, incase I want to transfer to another school (specifically for Cornell and Brown) what would you advise me to do? I have been previously rejected by Brown and waitlisted by Cornell (but didn’t keep my place). What should my gpa be around and will I need to retake the sat?

Give NU a chance. You never know. But if you still want to transfer after experiencing NU, make sure you find a solid reason for wanting to do it, not just because you want to go to an ivy etc. Ivy adcoms can sniff those interested in transferring for prestige reasons a mile away. Why do you think that NU is not a place for someone who hasn’t completely figured out what they want to do and why do you think Cornell is? Your GPA should be 3.7+ at least to have a decent chance.

1/3 of the students are Greeks. The other 2/3 aren’t dead. You get to sample more courses and have a little more flexibility with the quarter system.
