diplomat or an interpreter? I'm interested in these careers and what does one have to major in to be one? International Affairs? Language? I'm really not sure so please help me out. Also, what schools offer such programs if one wants to pursue such fields?

If you know what area of the world you want to work in, learn the language(s) of that area. Even if you don't know, learn and become fluent in a foreign language(s).

In most (if not all) countries, a person has to write an exam during the application process. In the US, it's the Foreign Service Written Exam. This website will give you more information about becoming a diplomat in the US: http://www.ehow.com/how_12359_become-diplomat.html

Well i guess you'll have to do some government & politics, a language - of your interest-, and do study about the states/countr(ies)/etc.. you are interested... + do have to to it through a government / international company...

check out the international relations thread in this "other college majors" forum. that's probably a route to consider.
