Hello, umm… I know, this question sounds really stupid, but I really don’t know how it works.
Let’s say… If one’s really good at a sports and won many medals and stuff, do colleges call him or her?
I really don’t have a clue on the process of one being recruited…

There are a lot of old threads on this. There are also books, articles etc. You should contact coaches during the spring of junior year or summer after junior year. If you play a team sport, you might want to have a video of whole games and/or highlights. If your sport relies on times, there are sample letters available to send to coaches with your times and academic credentials. Your coach should help you, too. Talk to your coach about what colleges would be appropriate for you with your skill level, and then figure out which ones appeal to you academically. Do NOT choose a college that you would not like it you broke your leg and could no longer do your sport. Depending on your ability level, you can really use your sport to help your chances with admissions. Check the old threads.
