How Can You Increase Critical Reading?

How can you increase your critical reading score? I'm pretty sure I can increase math and writing, but I have no idea for critical reading. My CR scores are low around 500. How can I bring them up. I need around a 700 by May. Is this possible?

...study strategies from one of those SAT study books. They help a little. I guess study common SAT vocab do a lot of practice reading passages too. CR scores are so mutable. It all depends on which vocab/passages you're given. The best way to rack up points is by answering all the fill-in-the-word questions correctly since that's mostly just vocab memorization.

I would recommend the Princeton Review SAT book. I feel that their tips for the CR section work really well. I feel like I did very well on the CR section, but I guess I'll see on Feb. 14!

Hey, I know your position. I used to be mediocre at critical reading, scoring 690 all the time. However, after I went through a regiment, my score went up to 790/800 and was consistent. What you have to do (and it is the only way) is memorize at least one thousand vocab. and take ONLY the reading sections daily over a week. Remeber, you have to do only the reading section, three sections a day, for a week. You should, if you already have a basis, see improvement on the third day.

490 to 690. Memorize vocabs (Word Smart, I recommend) and practice A LOT of past tests, concentrating on CR section.

hey download the thousand words from spark notes. they are the best by far. I gave two tests and i think i got around 20 words in the actual test from their list. Wonderful! It would also help to learn the roots of different words.
Hey and i dont know if this might work for everyone or not: Do not do anything on the day before the test. just relax. Do not do anything. Wake up an hour early before the test on the Saturday. Read all the strategies and tactics from various books and revise words you dont remember from the high frequency list from spark notes (not the thousand words!!!). it works. I have told this to two people and it worked. Both got 750+ in their CR and they were barely getting 700s in their practice.

PS i have tried both princeton review and barrons.
