How can you score above a 750 on CR?

I've been prepping for the SAT for quite some time, but I STILL can't get my Critical Reading score to where I want it (750+). I seem to be stuck at the ~680 point, and I've been stuck at this point for a while. I've managed to pull my writing and math up to around 800, but my reading just isn't getting better. What has worked for you guys, because I'm in desperate need of help if I want to score where I want to. Thanks!

How have you been preparing for the CR section?

I’ve been taking practice tests and analyzing my mistakes to see where I went wrong…I also got books especially for Critical Reading, and I’ve been working on those.

Are you taking AP English? If so, what kinds of grades are you getting on your essays?

(Feel free to send me one via PM if you’d like to.)

What kind of questions do you get wrong?

My biggest issue is with the long reading passages. Most of my mistakes usually come from that; however, I also sometimes make a few mistakes on the harder sentence completion and short reading as well. On the passage comprehension, I generally tend to miss questions addressing tone and inferences. Specially on dual passages, I tend to miss questions that ask things like “How would Author 1 feel about lines X-Y in passage 2” and questions like that.
