So, I know having a legacy helps alot with ivy leauge acceptances, but how close of a legacy does it need to be? I have a great-uncle(Grandmother's Brother) who went to MIT for grad school and another great-uncle who taught at princeton for a couple of years. Will this help at all? Or does the legacy need to be your parent or sibling?

My guess would be that what you have would help, but I really don’t know much about this legacy admission stuff…sorry!

The general consensus I’ve found when it comes to legacy (since I have legacy myself) is that legacy only applies to immediate family (parents and siblings) and grandparents as extended family. Great-uncles, therefore, would not count. Sorry!
