How Closely Is My App Read?

Maybe some of the admissions officers out there can weigh in. I am just wondering how closely the common app is read for each applicant. For example, I think some of the coolest/most interesting stuff in my app is in the "additional info" box on the last page, because it didn't really fit anywhere else. I hope that it isn't skimmed over or totally missed because of that. And if it's a matter of the more competitive apps being more closely read, my class rank is 1 and my SAT is 2300+. Does that help the rest of the app get a longer look? Thanks!

I think they look at each application closely because top schools and ivies (i’m assuming you’re applying to those colleges?) view apps holistically.

i’ve heard adcoms hold it really close to their face when they read it, so that they can see all the tiny imperfections… some say they don’t though.

Yes, better stats will ensure that your Application is deliberated further. (or on the other hand, bad stats means they often get thrown out in the first round)

I’m sure they read the Common App carefully, even the additional info section.

I know that an Ad Com will read the app twice and usually two-three people read it.

IDK if that’s the same for all colleges, from the UC video I saw that two people read it closely and twice, and sometimes a third person.

Yeah
