How college find if a student get into another college if he is an international student?

And to get your visa, you will be required to complete a certificate of finances that shows that your family HAS the money to pay your net cost at whatever college you attend. Actually, some colleges require that this have the resources at the ready for all four years. Some require one year only.

But bottom line is…you have to have the money to pay at least room, board, travel expenses, books, discretionary spending, clothing, toiletries.

Here’s the bottom line. There are some colleges that you may be able to apply as a first-year applicant. There are other colleges where you can’t apply as a first-year applicant. If the website is unclear if you are eligible, ask the college directly.

But, if you apply as a first-year, but are ineligible, the college will find out. The question is when they find out, not if. As to the how, it’s not our job, or the purpose of this site, to elucidate you on that subject. What we can tell you is that there will be consequences, particularly if they discover the deception after you are admitted, which will include revocation of the degree, if earned, and repayment of any aid awarded. And that’s before discussing the impact on your visa and any consequences with ICE.

To those who asked, I get into a college, made one semester, completed some grades but after doing this I quit. I didn’t know that if I complete one semester I would not be able to apply to 99% of US colleges as a freshman. I know that it is a lie, but I’m the same person that I was before college, so it is just to have a chance of getting good financial aid. If you see how hard is to get into another college as a transfer, it is really hard, almost impossible.
I just thinking to do this because it is my dream, and I cannot let myself even trying to achieve it.

I also think that I have a shot, I have great ec, a +1500 sat score, good letters.

Is that your actual zcore or the score you hopz to achieve?
How did your dad let you take the SAT, presumably to go to the US, but then won’t let you apply?
Is your dad now supportive after being unsupportive?
What do you do during your time?

I already talk with my dad about this dream, and he already knows about it. The thing is that we are a low-income family that would be able to only pay a low amount to colleges, but he supports it.

I think this has now been answered multiple times and regrettably is not what you wanted to hear.

  1. You will get caught if you lie (likely when not if).
  2. The academic consequences would likely include expulsion.
  3. You will have received financial aid based upon fraudulent information and potentially libel for its repayment.
  4. Your immigration status will be compromised.

I totally respect that this is your dream and you should persist in its pursuit honestly and forthrightly as best you can. Please don’t put yourself in harms way!

Even in EU countries following ECTS, there may be one exam in January or February, one exam in May, sometimes there’s just one final exam in June deciding the whole year. Outside countries within the Bologna agreement, it may even be less clear.
Apparently this student didnt complete a full year of university studies, but only attended for one semester (one term?) In many countries, students only get credits at the end of the first year, so if this is the case this student could just have attended classes and have nothing to show for it. They should write the colleges theyre interested in to say (for instance)they took half a course in …,…, and … but have no grade nor any credit, should they apply as a transfer or a freshman? (This is an example that should not be copied verbatim! Op should write, stating their exact situation in terms of credits attempted and recived, v. Classes taken without credit/audited, whether each counts for a university degree, etc.)

Edited for clarity, thanks @Skieurope.

I understand. I want to drive a sports car but I don’t have one. My neighbor has one and left the keys inside. I can take it and park it in my garage. If I keep the door closed, maybe no one will find out. The problem we both have is that we want to do something unethical and illegal. Bad idea. Get it?

Most US colleges don’t offer much aid (even to freshmen). The ones that offer full rides, which it sounds like you need, have extremely low acceptance rates. Your essays will have to be written much better than what you’ve posted here to be competitive.

The chances of being accepted are extremely small even if you tell the truth, but I think they’re actually better if you do. Not much, but better. If you tell the truth at least you could be honest about your dream. If you apply and lie on your application you’ll never know what would have happened if you’d been yourself.

MYOS1634 Thank you! I would not want to give bad advice and you are clearly better informed then me. :+1:

This. Please stop asking folks to support you in being dishonest.

You need to contact the colleges of interest to you. Some will allow you to apply as a freshman with only one semester if credits (they will want that transcript). Others won’t. Ask the schools. No one here can give you a definitive answer without knowing the exact colleges.

But again…being dishonest is not the way to go.

I hate correcting or contradicting @MYOS1634 because she is so often right, but the above message may be misconstrued by the OP.

They can certainly say that they “took half a course in …,…,… but have no grade nor any credit” if true. if they received credit, they cannot ask the question as phrased.

Moot point. OP is not in an EU country. From my experience, and I freely admit I do not know all unis there so exception may exist, in general, grades and credit are awarded are award at the end of semester.

OP, you can’t let go of a dream even if you have to lie to achieve it? That’s a problem we can’t help you with. CC doesn’t condone students lying.

You have heard from many senior members who have given good advice. Closing.
