How come UMD haven't posted decisions yet?

@smhamad don’t you already have 1st semester grade? Thats the one you should give probably. As for me…nothing yet!

They are asking current semester grades and these grades must be posted to an official transcript. The only way grades get posted to official transcript is after the semester is over. I think what I am saying is correct if not please correct me.

Well…the current (Latest?) semester grade would be the first semester. If they are really asking for the Current (right now) then its going to be quarter grade? Ask the registrar in your school (whoever does those kind of stuff) or call UMD! Good luck :)

I am a transfer student & have been checking every hour on the hour for the past 3 weeks. Most of my friends who have applied early decision have gotten their acceptance letter already & mine still says this:

We are unable to offer you a decision on your application at this time. You will be contacted as soon as the decision process is complete.

Thank you for your interest in the University of Maryland.

I am getting extremely worried. . . is anyone still seeing this when they log in online ???

Cindy–you should call them.

I did call them, 3 times already & they keep saying the same thing “your application is in review”. Not sure what my chances are now because my friends got their acceptance letters around St Patty’s Day. . . & it’s now almost 3 weeks later. . . & still no decision for me. :(

I am a transfer also (currently a freshman at a University in PA). I’ve been checking frantically for an answer online, and a few days ago I got the same message about postponing my decision until I can send my current (spring) semester grades. I am also worried that by the time I send the transcript that there will be no spots left (or horrible classes). I’m atleast glad to see that I’m not the only one to get a postponed decision. I can not stand the waiting though. It is killing me.
Especially since I already booked a lease down there. Heh oops!

lrnjoy – thank goodness I am not the only one ! That is so bizarre that it is asking for your spring grades ?? As in your midterms or the semester before this one we are in now ? Where does it ask you that ? on the ‘Decision on Application’ tab ? I don’t know what the hold up is, but I called again & same response. . “your application is still being reviewed, you should receive your decision within 2 weeks” well i want to know now so i can register for classes i actually want and need !! let me know if you get your decision anytime soon.

Well we might have different circumstances because I am a transfer from Temple University. What they want are the final grades from my second semester (the classes I am currently taking) which will be posted the 2nd or 3rd week of May. Then I have to send my official transcript. It’s just frustrating to keep waiting. And now I really really really have to work super hard to make sure I get the absolute best grades I can. Yikes.

It’s this website: https://was-4.umd.edu/lm/secure/adm_login.asp?forward=https://www.sis.umd.edu/admissions/AdmitDec

And this is what it says:
Thank you for your application for admission to the University of Maryland. After a careful review of your academic record, the Admission Committee has decided to postpone a decision on your application until we receive your current semester’s grades. We feel it is necessary to evaluate these grades in order to assess fully your academic strengths and abilities. Please request that the registrar of your present college or university forward your current grades to us as soon as they become available. These grades must be final and posted to an official transcript. We look forward to receiving your updated information.

Soooo anxious!

Wow. As I had said earlier, I received a postcard saying I was accepted. The other day I looked online(much later than I got the postcard) and it says I was accepted for the Spring of 2012, and waitlisted for the Fall semester. Not too interested in this school, but that’s kind of a weak move.

I’ll try to scan the postcard sometime later just to show you what it looked like.

that’s so weird. . .why would they congratulate you and then slap you in the face right after ?? are you a transfer student ?

spatel11, you’re post scares the crap out of me. D:
I’m going to be screwwwwed if I don’t get in this fall.

No, I’m an up and coming freshman.

Nothing 4 me yet…

so do i, it’s 15TH OF APRIL!!!WHAT THE HECK!

^^ lol. ikr

It’s the freaking 15th of April. And it’s still the same old " we cannot give you ur decision yet" crap. This is getting REALLY annoying. Agh.

lol by now i have given up hope…

Call them, call them, call them. I kept getting the answer both online and over the phone from the admissions office that my application was in “still in review.” On Monday I finally talked to someone who told me that another office needed to review my application before a decision would be made. I called that office, and it turns out they never received my application, nor were they aware that they were supposed to review it. So admissions was waiting for clearance from an office who didn’t even know they were supposed to be reviewing my application. It took some investigative effort on my part to find out what was going on. Don’t accept “it’s still in review” as an answer. Be proactive. Call some people, and ask them if something funny is going on. And by the way, I’m still waiting on an answer, but I know for sure now that the ball is actually rolling.

I called them and they said they will send the decision letter within next week.
