How commonly is a student's "safety" school a poorly considered throw-in?

<p>@gearmom, she has chosen biochemistry where available and neuroscience where it is not. One of her safeties (UScranton) has exactly what she wants: Forensic Chemistry with an automatic minor in Criminology. If she is accepted into their honors program, there is the additional auto minor in philosophy. Both Forensic Chemistry and Criminology are difficult majors to find in the northeast. </p>
