How comparable is the SAT to the GRE?

I've heard all sorts of opinions on this, but the general consensus is that the GRE isn't that much harder. I did pretty damn well on the SAT, so I thought I'd ask and make sure before I get too overconfident.

Yea Id like to know this as well. Does the GRE test the same stuff as the SAT?

sort of yes. the new gre is more like the new sat, but with a twist.

I thought the GRE was harder. Math was unexpectedly hard due to graph questions and just being time consuming. I’d definitely go through some practice questions to get an idea of what the graphing questions will ask for. Given unlimited time for math, it’s no problem cuz it’s not conceptually hard (especially if you’re primed for certain questions through practice). And the verbal… I was never a verbal person but I took my GRE seriously and actually studied for once. I thought there were fewer giveaway questions on the verbal section compared to the SAT.

Yeah, how much more difficult is the GRE than the SAT? I mean I personally feel the SAT is a useless exam (it is not representative of what University courses are like at all, much easier in terms of the math, while the English sections are useless). Anyway, if one got over 2000 w/o studying (2030), if I a significant amount of effort into the GRE, could I have a chance of getting a very high score (close to perfect) to balance out an average GPA?
