Is it nearly impossible if you dont have like a 2300 and a 4.7? How does the scholarship stuff work. How many are there???

The main ones are as follows:

100 trustee (full tuition)
200 presidential (half tuition)
250 deans (quarter tuition)

More info here: http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/sg/entering_undergrad_meritbased/

Having seen your stats, I think you have shot as deans, presidential is a stretch as is trustee. That's just based on GPA/SAT though, they also consider interviews and other factors quite a bit. That's all assuming you applied by the scholarship deadline, which was in Early December.

yea i did i couldnt get an interview though

If they are considering you for a merit award, THEY will contact you to set up a scholarship interview. This is separate & apart from the interviews regarding admissions to USC.

I believe there is also a leadership merit scholarship that your HS may recommend one student for, at least that's my understanding from our kids' HS. Don't know details about it other than you have to have been active in student government & nominated by your HS.

My GPA/SATs were similar to yours (2080 SATs, 800/800/770/770 SAT IIs, 4.0 uw/4.43 w), and I didn't get a Dean's scholarship.

However, if you really need the money, USC will give you plenty of need-based grants.
