I'm working under the pretenses that your prospective major plays a part in the admission process. i plan on applying in 2007, and am about to enter the "make or break" junior year. i was wondering exactly how competitive are the biology major admissions at Arts/Sciences and Agriculture/life sciences.

about 3.8 gpa (uw)
hardest courses (save for english freshman year) ,lots of aps
lots of ecs, which i might list later on...

satiis
740 chem, mathIIc
730 bio

and here're my major hook(s)

this summer i'm in a genetics/bioinformatics summer institute at rutgers university (wssp), and i'm publishing several novel artemia franciscana cDNA sequences to GenBank. also i have a paid position under another professer at rutgers, where i'll be working on cell polarization/movement, and i might get a lil something published...hopefully.

also, i'm going to apply for a NIH grant sponsored by a doctor at NYBC(where i'll be working at the summer) this coming spring.

wow....i cant believe this evolved into one of those "what're my chances at ______ college" threads....my apologies. i dont really care if you evaluate my chances or not, just give me some input on the original question of the competitivity (wow...thats not a word is it?) of the proposed bio majors
