How competitive is FYSOP? For example I have ~100 hours logged at a local greyhound rescue shelter over the past 3 years and I frequently read about social justice issues online (feminist/gender theory in particular), would I have a fair chance of getting into FYSOP?
I want to know this too. But, I’m guessing it’s kind of on a first come first serve basis, since you have to pay 450 dollars upfront.
I never thought of FYSOP as competitive. You’re fine!
So, I emailed the people in charge of FYSOP and they said that the earlier you apply the better. If you apply earlier then you have a better chance of getting your first pick in focus area.
@lolog123 so basically anyone who applies is guaranteed or almost-guaranteed acceptance into FYSOP? I applied a week or two after I made the post, is it safe to say I’m in?
@emm628 yeah i think so.
No program includes every applicant for their newest workers.
Include all qualifications and maintain utmost integrity.

Apply early, be honest, but don’t stress. FAntastic program and great way to orient to BU and Boston in a fun way with people who (by definition) are supportive of the community. Spots go fast!!!
