How competitive is George WashUs program?

<p>hi, i am a prospective junior interested in George WashUs BA/MD
program, and I was wondering if I could get a sense of how competitive this program is.
I will disclose my stats, and i beg you to give me an honest opinion of where I stand/if I have a chance at acceptance.</p>

<p>SATs: </p>

<p>CR: 760
M: 690 -will this hurt me?
W: 800 - 11 E, 79 MC</p>

<p>i know my composite score is pretty good, but will the adcoms look at my score as a whole, or in parts?
do all my scores have to be STELLAR?
do i have to take this dreaded test again? UGH</p>

<p>ACTs: taken in 8th grade
COMPOSITE: 32
E: 34
M: 23
R: 36
S: 35</p>

<p>SAT IIs: </p>

<p>Math Level II : 800 (fluke i'm guessing...i am horrible at standardized test math, but pretty ok at school)</p>

<p>Chemistry: 800</p>

<p>Writing: 800</p>

<p>Physics: 660 (ouch)</p>

<p>GPA: (embarrassing- THIS should definitely hurt me)</p>

<p>UW: 3.67
W: 4.20
ECS</p>

<p>Red Cross Volunteer (100+ hours)
Physician's assistant at a hospital (did filing, secretary work, etc)
Helped my dad with his research on thyroid diseases for a year
Played piano for 10 years, no awards though.
NHS Officer/President
Boy Scout
Went to Harvard Summer School, took a grad level chem class and got a B+
Ran cross country for 3 years, 2 as JV and 1 as Varsity
Scholar Bowl Team- JV Captain for 2 years</p>

<p>^for the GW-GW BA/MD 7 year, pretty much a very minimal to no chance…</p>

<p>I don’t want to crush your dreams, because there is certainly always a chance that your essays could pull you through (essay make or break you) but based on the overall appearance of your scores and such, I would suggest looking at backup plans.</p>

<p>The GW prog is one of THE most competitve (if you’re talking about the 7 year.) If you are determined to attend a combined degree program there are lists on this forum of your various option.</p>

<p>So again, I don’t know everything there is to know about you and the program, but at first glance I say it would be a stretch.</p>

the st bonaventure program is just as good, if not better</p>
