Are the odds of getting matched low?
especially if a person has average stats (1760 SAT), 50,000+ ish income, and a life-story that isnt THAT bad compared to the homelessness, welfare, and foreign country tales.
matched to YPS for an hispanic

Let’s say there’s an absolutely 0% chance if the person didn’t apply, and some if they did. Even if we aren’t matched which is a low percentage overall; we can still benefit from finishing the QB application.

We don’t know what the college admissions staff is looking for, maybe they’ll see potential in you, or see you beyond your stats? With that being said, have you looked at last year’s Match stats? ([National College Match Program: 2009 College Match Recipient Profile](QuestBridge)).

There’s around a coin toss’ chance that we could also become finalists. That option would be sweet enough!

hmm okay. thnks. i looked at that link before.
it seems like it’s risky.

Do keep in mind the number accepted in the College Match round is relatively low compared to the number in the RD round.

What are the odds of becoming a Finalist? Just a fraction of Finalists over applicants would be a great answer, if anyone knows. I’m just a bit curious, thanks for the help.

It’s approximately 50% “amimike”. 2506/5830 in 2009, 2470/4889 in 2008 and here are the rest. [2005-08 National College Match Program Results - Acceptance Rates](http://www.questbridge.org/cmp/chances.html) if the database crashes is a signal of anything, there will be a large rise in applicants although they have always kept it around 50%.

so did you become a finalist razor?

I did! Thanks for asking. I’m SUPER excited for December 1st. The thought that I could know where I’m going in just 35 days is mind blowing for me. Coming from a household of parents who have never gone to a 4 year college and a brother who went to a CC and transferred to a StateU, it’s big news. How about you clarinetgurl?

Nope :(. But I’m sure it went to someone who needed it more. Good luck for the Match!! I really hope you get in where you would like :)
