I know from the website that there are no academic requirements to apply, but what are the numbers (gpa, sat's, class rank, if anyone knows) of those who get accepted? How many apply and how and are accepted?

It’s very competitive - just look at PSU’s website, I found all the numbers in a minute or less.

Only 300 are accepted. Here are the stats of UP accepted students, so SH will be at the upper end of this

[Admission Statistics: Penn State University Undergraduate Admissions](Admission Statistics - Undergraduate Admissions)

Son was accepted and several of his friends as well, they were all accepted to other highly ranked schools, Notrhwestern, Michigan, UNC, Duke, Princeton, Penn, CMU, UWSL, West Point, King’s College in Canada, Boston college, William and Mary so if you can get into these you have a shot.

Just completed the essays. Will submit next week. Is it too late already for the Schreyer Honors College?

just about what Jssaab wrote. Our local HS sends a good number to SHC and Cornell each year. A very a good indicator to me is that many students who are rejected from SHC end of going to Cornell (and similar schools)- two years ago I knew of 7 that were accepted to Cornell and only 3 of those were accepted to SHC.
I reviewed applications in the past. The top 2/3 of the ACCEPTED pool have stats and accomplishments that are very competitive for the top 10. The stats of those who attend that are reported in the SHC annual report are a bit lower, of course. SHC doesn’t usually don’t draw people away from the top ivies, MIT and Stanford, but are reasonably successful below that. One might ask why? well many of the top SHC student receive other scholarships from the colleges and academic units at PSU. Students understand that leaving PSU with no debt is better than attending a school ranked 10-15, especially if they plan to go to grad/med school.
One thing to consider about the published stats of students enrolling in the SHC is that PSU “caps” the reported GPAs in their admin stats at 4.33. Not sure why this is, but it has to do with re-weighting. The high school transcripts of the typical successful applicants I reviewed reported weighted GPAs from the schools >4.4.

Too late? no, not technically. However, applications are distributed to the faculty readers the middle of december and their evaluations are due before february. So they are being reviewed now
