How Competitive is the Honors Program?

Well right now, Marquette is looking like one of my top choices, and a few weeks ago I got an invitation to apply for the honors program. After going on the website and doing some research, I'm really interested in applying! :) The thing is that they take only 100 applicants a year.

Minority- Hispanic
From a competitive Catholic High school in Northern NJ
3.8 GPA- unweighted/ 4.1 weighted
25 ACT ( I am not a test taker at all hahaha)
Have awesome recs

While the essay looks somewhat difficult, writing is one of my fortes and I plan to do very well on it. :). With a great essay and good app, do I stand a chance? I would most likely enter as an Urban Affairs major in the college of arts and sciences.

On facebook go to Marquette University Class of 2015: Real Students, Real Answers nad then go to the discussion board and you will find a good answer to your question from a current student. Good luck!

Good luck, BC1117! I have two daughters at Marquette, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

BC1117, my son is a freshman at Marquette and is in the Honors program. At orientation the program director did indicate that the essay played a big role in selection of the honors program participants, so go all out on your essay! Good luck!
