How could I finish my FAFSA when my parents are both foreigners?

Hi everyone!

I got a q’s on my FAFSA XD

When I am doing my FAFSA, there is an error called:

“You reported that the student’s parents will not file an income tax return, but the amount you reported for Parent 1 (Father’s/Mother’s/Stepparent’s) and Parent 2 (Father’s/Mother’s/Stepparent’s) income appears to be over the minimum amount required for filing a tax return. Change the answer to tax return status or income amount for father and mother.”

My parents are all foreigners live overseas so they don’t pay any US taxes.
I am a U.S citizen with the passport but I am still dependent on them.

How can I finish my FAFSA by this?

Did you use 000000000 for each of their SSNs?

I think you have to print out a paper copy and they have to hand sign that

I had the exact same problem. Just contact someone from the Federal Student Aid Information Centre. Their contact information is at https://studentaidhelp.ed.gov/app/home/site/fafsa
