My background is clean, with the exception of my medical history (my dad died a few months ago, and during that time I saw my doctor because I couldn't sleep and he gave me a prescription - is this unfavorable for me?) I ask because I know the co-op is for special agents, and they have (potentially) very high stress jobs, and if one of them is taking a prescription for sleep, mabye that would send a red flag? However I was through unusual circumstances, so mabye it doesn't necessarily preclude me?

Anyway I'm a sophmore, and have never taken an accounting course (however have taken lots of business courses) and next semester including the summer I'm going to take most of the accounting requirement courses. My GPA is a 3.6 at a University with above average SAT scores: like 500-600 for math section.

Anyway if you read the link I provided it doesn't give an indicators of what will give me an edge into getting the co-op. How do co-ops normally work? What normally makes one kid get a internship over another (besides grades)? And Lastly how is this co-op likely to differ from a non-government co-op (With respect to actually getting the internship)?

Skittles - please ignore my post as I will do the same if you reply. I do not like to be harassed.

First of all, they are not going to require you to state which prescription drugs you take. The medical exam is due to the government/law enforcement nature of the job and is more than likely a basic medical exam. Secondly, you have not taken any accounting courses. My advice is that you stop posting threads in this section about accounting until you have taken accounting courses. Accounting courses are vastly different from other business courses. Secondly you must not value your school since you do not list the name. If this is the case, you might have trouble when competing with students from more respected schools. Bottom line is take your accounting classes first and then start asking questions on here. That way you won’t ask completely idiotic questions like whether or not it is a good idea to open an accounting firm out of college.

Also the IRS specifically states that they review your medical history. Thats in addition to the basical medical exam. So if you don’t know what your talking about, mabye you could just not reply rather then appearing idiotic.

I’m not sure I even know what to say. Either this is a joke and you are some high school kid just messing with people, or you have some major problems. Look at your opening post in this thread jack*** it specifically states, as is qouted above, that you have NOT taken any accounting classes. Your posts are worthless and with your lack of gramatical and rational skills I wish you the best in life because you will need it.

Go post on the high school site, or better yet, the “meaning of life thread” (yea - I looked up some of your other posts) those thread suit you better since nobody takes you serious on the business threads anymore.

So now I mis-stated in my original post. I never took a college level accounting course which is what I ment. So what, get over it.

And again you yourself made an even greater irrational mistake when you told me that they are not going to “ask” which prescription drugs I take. They DO a medical history, so they will see that. If you are going to misinform people and give false information I think it would be better if you

Also as you have checked out my past posts, I have done to yours. And clearly I can see a pattern of you being a cold-hearted, ignorant, mad-at-the-world, person, if you have anger issues I suggest you see a therapist, otherwise stop posting here.

Dude - I read some of your other posts and honestly feel bad for you if they are true. You need help. Go see a doctor or therapist.

Also, read the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) it will clear up your qualms about medical information and employers. Seriously though, get some help bro.

My posts on the political section, if that is what you are referring to, were in humor, and I apologize to everyone if they were taken seriously. Yes, I was mean to you, and for that I am sorry because of your life situation. Get help bro, I’m serious. Good luck with life man.

Dude listen. I didn’t ask for your opinion on my mental health (I have been under a lot of stress of a long time), however that has nothing to do with this post.

After I read a few of your posts it is not hard to see that you have your own issues. You seem to be a bitter person, insults seem to be a theme in your posts.

The ADA cannot prevent the federal government from doing a medical history check. They need stable, solid people to run the country, I’m not going to read the act, but there are always exceptions. And again the feds specifically mention they check your medical history, that is a very explicit statement.

And my mental health is fine, I have been through very stresful and traumatic life events, and I am recovering, you on the otherhand are always going to be a bitter, miserable, cold-hearted person.

I wasn’t reffering to the political threads, you in one you were criticizing someone for asking a stupid question (like you claim I have done) and were calling them a ■■■■■.

Have you ever done or said something stupid in your life? Yes, but its not relevent to this post, I have resorted to this to defend myself, however I can see you are a person whom doesn’t have much character and I don’t care to discuss with you.

It has nothing to do with making an error in your OP. The problem is the way you did not hesitate to launch a verbal assault on someone without checking your facts first.

Learning to control that temper might be more valuable lesson than any accounting class.

The reason I responded the way I did to the other poster is because he said one of my questions was idiotic. I found no reason for myself to try and be tacful when the other user is being rude.

Abviously you have too much free time on your hands being that your in alaska. Mabye you could do something more constructive like suck on snow?

Dawgie - You are just taking advantage of the situation by taking it upon yourself to insult me. Your comment suggests to me that you are immature. I think you will have a lot to learn before you reach high school.

Sorry bcarvings, I’m actually 23, and I just passed my CPA on the first try with 2 months study. Let me know if you need accounting assistance my child. I was serious about that comment.
