How could this possibly be my score?

During the January SAT I got 43/49 on my MC. Using the formula in the Princeton Review book, that should put my raw score at (43-1.5)+(8x2)=58 (well 57.5 but it gets rounded up). Now according to the book, with that score I should get 680-720 (so a 700 mid range?) but it seems my range is 600-680 according to collegeboard. I am not sure how that works, because for my CR I got a score lower than what the book says. Furthermore, for my maths I got one question wrong and I dropped down to 740-800. It makes no sense to me, I know there is a curve but is it that big?

Thanks, please help me understand this better before I take my SATs one last time.

The Princeton Review book curves are different than the real SAT curves. Anything is possible. You can not use your raw scores from the real SAT and convert with the Princeton Review chart.

Oh thanks. Are there any curves available online that are possibly more accurate?

The most accurate curve is the actual curve for that test. I think there is a curve chart somewhere that has the January curve posted.

This is the most accurate collection of curves out there. Don’t listen to the Princeton Review books.

Alright, thanks a lot guys!
