Nobody whom i've asked so far has given me a simple, concise answer. My question is: I don't want to spend my time at a 4-year, assuming I get in, on crap like english or multi-cultural political correctness. I want to go to med school, and need stuff like bio, chem, and some math, correct? ok, so Ive begun to do basic bio (5 on ap test, 800 on SAT II) and am taking gen chem at my local jc, along with calculus. I need to know:
If these units count towards GE's, or if I can get them to count towards a major.
And overall, how does the GE/major credit system overlap.

Any solid response is appreciated...

Ps: btw if anyone knows how far in math, bio, and chem i need to go at a school like UCI, that'd be even more help.

The reason you haven't gotten a simple, concise answer is because... It's not simple and concise. To give a solid response, we would have to know what school you wanted to transfer TO and what school you are transferring FROM so that we can look for the credit equivalency information, which most 4-year schools have posted online somewhere.

In a vague response, Calculus will typically count towards general education requirements in quantitative reasoning/numbers expression/math/whatever they call it when it has to do with numbers.

If you are very, very, very serious about Med School, and if you can get some of the pre-Med sequence out of the way at your community college or through AP exams, maybe you want to look at colleges/universities that offer a 5 or 6 year BS and MD joint program.
