santa cruz is! I got a letter in the mail from them thanking me for applying and how excited they are about reviewing everyone's applications. I've applied to some other colleges and no one ever acknowledge me! santa cruz is just wiggling its way into my heart more and more!

You should go for a visit and see how great it really is! :)

i did! it was incredible! im pretty sure its my first choice it just seems to prefect. do you go there?

Yeah. I really can’t imagine going anywhere else. A lot of my friends feel that way.
It’s just incredible. The campus is beautiful.
It’s a shame about all the budget cuts and tuition hikes, but it’s still a great university.

what major are you? I applied to health science, do you have any idea if thats hard to get into?

i worked at ucsc this summer… it is gorgeous every morning, day and night. trees everywhere, view of the ocean right across from the dorms, and animals everywhere on campus. there were dear just walking around, they really dont care about humans.

i hope you get accepted, its a great campus

Yeah the deer are protected and sometimes you see babies and it’s soo cute! Just be wary of raccoons! They’ll take food right out of your hand.

Ahh Santa Cruz is so beautiful!

haha yeah there are a lot of raccoons that are not scared of us at all!
I’m a math major. I really have no idea if health sciences is hard to get into… sorry!

Thank you for liking my hometown! In fact, reading all of your posts prompted me to go up and pay a visit to the City on the Hill. It’s been awhile. I live right here and yet I never take advantage of UCSC! My mother used to work there in the '60s. Since I went to h.s. in Santa Cruz, I never had any desire to attend COLLEGE here, too. Heaven forbid:) But, listening to you guys describe the university makes me want to drive through and re-live the memories of the redwoods and glorious views of the bay. Thanks, all! My daughter didn’t apply there for 2010 for the same reasons I didn’t back in '69. Too close to home! :)
