How detrimental are APs in NYU admission?

So far, I’ve only completed one AP course, and am currently taking two others, one of which I’m thinking of dropping solely because I’m trying to make some changes to my schedule, and I’m not liking the class too much. Is two AP classes not good enough for NYU, or should I go ahead and switch out of the class? (my school offers about 8 or 9 ap classes, but i, personally, was only able to take 4 and i chose 3 out of the 4.)

I think taking 2 is better than 1 IF you think you can do well in both AP courses(A’s or B’s). Selective universities like NYU will be looking to see that you challenged yourself academically so not choosing to take one when the opportunity is available will not look good.
However, if you think that 2 AP’s might be a little too much, then just focus on the one and do well in it.

If you don’t like the class, can you switch into an AP class that you like?

What will the GC mark on your transcript for course rigor? Most rigorous or not?

I think only AP physics is the only other option for me, but scheduling at my school has been kind of a disaster the past few weeks so the class might not even be open.
