How did everyone think the SAT Bio on May 3rd was?

don’t know if i’ll retake

@Remembrance: Retaking a 770 is pointless even for HYPSM. If anything, it shows that you are too test-focused.

@DiscipulusBonus‌

I currently have 800 math II, 770 chem, and now 770 bio. shooting for HYPSM.
I need to focus on SAT I, because my score isn’t that good there. Im taking it june 7th. I thought that if my score on the SAT I is good enough, then I might as well retake a subject test in October… thoughts? That’s only if I don’t have to take the SAT I for a third time in October or november

not to hijack the thread or anything…

@remembrance, how many questions did you miss/blank??

@Remembrance: I think your time would be better spent on ECs or on your essays. A +30 on SAT II Bio isn’t going to help you in admissions. What is your SAT I?

Yo. What chance do you think I have in top LACs if my Reasoning is 2100+, my ECs and awards are stellar (for an international student), but my subject tests are Math IC 700 and Bio M 670? :|

Should I retake a 660 for E?
I’m taking MathIIC in June but I also signed up for Bio…however I forgot a lot of things.
And I’m taking SAT in October.

Biology E 800!
Satisfied.:)

@ThePariah‌ What’s your major? What are some of your target schools?

@Someone007 Why are you taking these math and science classes if you are applying to LACs?

@Joe2015 Math and Science…Any Ivy League or UCs, or top 30 colleges.

Yeah, I don’t think a 660 will be very impressive. You will need to be 770+ along with one or two 800s, assuming you have average ECs and no hook.

@Joe2015: What makes you think that SAT II scores need to be 770+? MIT’s website gives the impression that all 700+ scores are acceptable, and I doubt many colleges will have more stringent guidelines than MIT.

Yes, I’m sure SAT II scores 700+ are acceptable, I think you will really need a hook in you are not the tippy top. Heck you still need a hook.

My friend with SAT I of 2370 and SAT II scores of 800, 800, 800. Didn’t even get a look from the Ivy’s. He ended up at Carnegie Melon.

@Joe2015 It seemed like the best idea at that time. And it still kind of does, I think. I’m not comfortable with the SAT history, languages and literature, and after learning biology at school I thought I would score good. Guess not, though.

Congrats on the 800!

I have a pretty decent GPA of 3.9 UW, as well as good ECs that I’m passionate about, national awards, stellar recommendations and 2100+ SAT1. No hooks though. International status might hinder me, but coming from a low income background might be of help? sigh
