How did I even get an interview?

<p>So, I applied regular decision a week before the deadline. On the website it says that in order to get an interview, you have to submit the app by a certain date (like Dec 12 or something). I sent mine in a lot later. So how did I even get an interview? I know I shouldn't be questioning it, but I'm curious..</p>

<p>If they have alumni available in the area for interviews, and they aren’t overwhelmed with other applicants, they’ll interview as many students as they can, even if these students happened to apply after the interview deadline.</p>

<p>Yeah, depends on the availability. I applied a day before the deadline and I was contacted for an interview 6 days later, so it all depends on how many people are applying from your area.</p>

<p>I’m in your boat, and I got an interview too. Embrace the opportunity, most interviewers want to like you and help you out, so it’s essentially free brownie points as long as you’re competent during it. I have my first two college interviews coming up, and I can’t wait.</p>
