How did i get rejected?

I got rejected with a 2.7 and 34 on act. does that make sense? was the head of many clubs and had a great summer internship and had great ec and great recs.

When did you apply? Completely rejected or deferred? Your GPA seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum.

i applied ea on the 30th, got completely rejected

Only 4% of enrolled freshmen have a GPA below 3.0.

You got rejected because your GPA is too low. IU puts the most weight on GPA, and seems to care about ECs less than other schools.

Based on Common Data Set information, its your GPA that held you back. Not sure what other criteria you have and if that GPA is weighted or unweighted but as someone else said, a very small percentage of admitted students have below a 3.0. The average GPA for IU I believe was around a 3.6. Google the Common Data Set for IU and look at section C for the stats on GPA and Test scores.

GPA too low, combined with 34 ACT is red flag: slacker, or someone who does not manage their time/priorities well.
