Instead of on April 1st.
Are they just better than me?

Are you talking about the rolling decisions for Hotel, CALS, and one other school?

I suppose some of us are better than you … or you’re just a non-URM.

(That is, if you’re not talking about the contract colleges).

Cornell sent out a few likely letters to non-URMs too. Also there’re the atheletes. Then there are the “rolling” schools…

It doesn’t seem that the term “rolling” should be used for Cornell. From what I understand the contract colleges sent out some admissions on one day and now everyone else has to wait until April 1st. They are more like confirmed “likely” letters. Rolling admissions inplies that admissions are sent out in multiple waves as they are reviewed.

saf is correct. There was only one release of acceptances to a very small percentage of students in certain programs. The rest of the decisions for all schools will be released on April 1. The decisions that were released were just a reflection of the acceptances that were ready by a particular date - they were not decisions related to all URMs or athletes or any other group of applicants.

well i’m a RD kid and i only applied to the college of arts and sciences. i’m a urm and cornell is having diversity hosting event that starts not even a week after decisions come out. i got an invitation and unofficial acceptance letter because cornell needed time to book my flight/ get everything together for the event. even with that, i don’t think all the urms that applied got an invite…that doesn’t necessarily mean that they didn’t get in…just means that they probably weren’t done evaluating their application by the time they needed to send out the invites. some other reasons why people got their decisions or unofficial acceptance letters may be because they applied to a rolling school or because they’re just awesome. that being said, only a small percentage get a early notification anyway. i think that the majority of accepted kids get their letters april 1st though. so yea…that’s my 2 cents.

I applied to Cals. I didn’t receive a decision yet.
Is that bad?
Since it’s rolling and all.
