How did you ask your advisor for permission to overload on credits?

and how many credits did you overload by?

One time, I signed up for 24 credits. The maximum credit hours that one can sign up at my school are 21. To get over 21, I had to ask for both my advisor and department approval. To ensure that they approve, I shuffled courses around, so that the class that needed their approval was a mandatory degree requirement one, not some elective course. And that’s how I did the trick.

WHY would you do that? Go do something fun!

You just ask…? At most schools these permissions are only a formality as long as you are in good academic standing.

You usually have to pay extra to overload too.

Have you read your college handbook/catalog? The procedures should be clearly listed, including number of credits you can overload, GPA requirements, additional fees etc. Probably will be in the beginning sections.
