How did you do the Global Issue Essay?

Hey,
I'm finishing mine up...I went like this:

Intro: introduced my topic
paragraph 1: discussed the problem
paragraph 2: discussed the problem further, used quotes, etc.
paragraph 3: discussed why I think its important and conclusion

should i have why I think its importat throughout the article or is it okay to introduce the situation first and then dive into why I think its important?

my essay pretty much followed that outline with some slight variations, but i think you're good with that. i was fortunate enough to have done 6 global issues for summer AP homework

yeah i basically just built up the issue to make it seem worse and worse, then provided what i thought the solution was.

one of my teachers said i should include "more of me" in the essay, but i thought that was what the other essay was for, and that the SFS essay should really just focus on the issue and stuff. who's right?

ditto. who's right?

I talked to the southwest rep, and she said that the sfs essay is suppose to be very methodical and focused on the issue. i asked if i was suppose to incorporate myself into it and she said no.

but we should still put in our own personal opinion on how to solve or go about solving the global issue right...??and what about bibliographical stuff...??

You're lucky you get to write about a global issue instead of "why do you want to go to business school"

I discussed the topic for a bit, then went into my personal experiences with it and how I want to use my IR background to help. I think all of the answers are correct, it can be methodical or very you. Mine was kind of in between, discussing it methodically while also putting myself into it. Best of luck to everyone! I'm so nervous to find out EEEEK.

oh.
i talked about how the problem is connected to me.
and i had a bunch of paragraphs just talking about it. and offering solutions.

Basically, I just stated my issue and told how it affects my life. Pretty much the same organization as yours.
