How did you do your volunteer service?

I was looking at some articles and discovered wonderful things!

They actually do more than 200 hours in community service!

I was trying to work at neighborhood hospitals but they rejected me

b/c my background is not so trustworthy(YEAH I am a foreigner or an "legal

alinen") and they have many volunteers on sat or sun day.

How did you guys do your community service?

I like working hard and hate cheating.

So even if it is hard or physically demanding I want some work that people

actually glad that I am volunteering.

so plz share your experience or any guidence.

I will really really really appreciate it

PS: I am a korean male and junior HS. I can speak english but it is little clumsy!

Elementary school, animal shelter, homeless shelter/soup kitchen. These types of place love help and except almost anyone.

Lots of stuff related to my church, tutoring through AVID at school, and being the tennis manager for the women's team at my high school. The stuff at church is cool and easy especially if you're affiliated with the youth group there. Tutoring was all right; I tutored mostly in math (since your English isn't too great, you can do the same). Being the tennis manager (i'm not even sure if that's counted as community service, but hey, I volunteered and i'm not getting paid!) was because I'm the men's team capt. and helped/taught some of the girls how to play better. I amassed a huge amount through the tennis...2 hrs a day for 10 or so weeks, so it's not too crazy to get 200+ hours when you think about it.

Tutoring at school, church, clubs that offer any opportunities :)

I loved volunteering in an emergency room at a children's hospital...the doctors taught me about medicine, treated me to some wonderful, yummy food, and let me observe cardiac resusciations and horrific traumas...the nurses let me run errands for them, escort patients to wherever they needed to go (x-ray, floor). I earned about 330 hours over a two year period :)

Thank you guys :-)

now I know some general stuff !

I hope I can find my work soon though

I am mostly considering church or shelter programs

since hospitals are rather cautious about their volunteers

but If you have any more guidance, plz tell me :-)

I am still considering many options.

You can often join community service groups at school..,or start one, that'll look even better on college apps.
