For everybody in the family, except for me, Legos, Lincoln logs, and Tinker Toys.

My “sport” in high school (and middle school) was Math Team

My dad was an engineering professor and took me to campus often. I liked sitting in on the classes with all the guys! I liked math and figured why not go into engineering? I find that a lot of women engineers have dads or other close relatives who were engineers.

I always say my son was born an engineer. Always was fascinated with anything mechanical or electrical. Initially it was just watching but then moved to understanding and building. He asked a ton of questions all along the way. To me (not an engineer) it was a challenge. Thank god for Google. And eventually he was on his own. I too learned a lot in the process though.
