How did you prep for your SAT?

Hi all, I am a junior in HS and currently very stressed. I have had an idea of which college I want to go to for awhile, but no real plan in mind. I was going to take my SAT for the first time next year as a senior but my counselor said they would not go that route and that it wasn’t a good idea. I am not a very good test taker because I get very nervous. My sophomore year I took my PSAT. I didn’t take it very serious and I didn’t get much sleep the night before. I also only got halfway through each section, and had no idea what I was doing on the math section. I got a very low score of 870. I have done no prep for the SAT and have two plans in mind.

Plan 1: Prep for the next few months until June, take the SAT. Then retake it in September, October, and November.
Plan 2: Prep all summer, then take it September, October, and November.

I should also mention I am taking 2 AP tests in May. Thank you all for any feedback I receive!

Take it in June, then in October.
Why? Firstly, 2 times should be enough. Secondly, You should take it in June, because it gives you the full SAT experience. You will know all your weaknesses, test procedures. It forces you to “taste” the SAT once, fully.
Then, spend all summer prepare. You have time. You knew the enemy well. You have fought it, and failed or not, you are now stronger.
Thus, when you take it again in October, you have had 4 months of after-battle experience. And now, you will succeed.
So fail now. To win latter. Cest la Vie.
