I went from a 610 to a 760 so I definitely improved.
I learned how to write a good essay. I went from a 8 to an 11.
I also learned the grammar rules by heart. I went from missing 9 (1 omit) MC questions to 4.

All I used was the blue book, did a writing section every once every two weeks

use sparknotes, the free online edition that explains the writing essay. =) went from 9 to 11.
And make flash cards for the grammar (not of rules, but off all questions you missed + why you missed it). i.e. side 1 = the question (you can photo copy it or hand write it in)
side 2= answer. + your original answer/why it was wrong.

overall 690 to 790.

and do use the blue book. and PR’s 11 practice tests-> do all the writing sections in there.

Practicing with the blueBook alongside Testmaster’s answer book let me get a
perfect MC writing score.

Focus on CR and Math. Colleges only glance at writing, it’s pretty much ignored.

^ False

For the essay:
Get to know a few historical events really well that you would be able to relate to anything. It a very formulaic essay, you need to have a thesis that goes one way or the other.

For the grammar section you just need to get used to reading the things in your head until you start hearing which option sounds correct.

Going through the blue prep book is a good a way to do this.

Rocket Review and Grammatrix are excellent resources for basic grammar concepts that repeat frequently on the SAT

i went from a 690 to 800 by using the barron’s SAT book. really helped me. it was $33 though, but i think the 110 point jump was worth it
