How did you receive your admission decision?

Was it through just regular snail mail or e-mail or maybe a phone call? I ask because I never received any confirmation from the admission office, even though I e-mailed my Admissions Counselor and she told me they have everything...just wondering if this is the norm for everybody.

Both actually. It took awhile too. My son sent his application the end of October and he heard back the end of December via email and then early January he received a big blue package.

Thanks! I’m a transfer applicant so it might be a bit different…I’ll keep an eye out in my e-mail inbox to see if I’ll get anything from them…

Good luck! I’ve heard it is easier to transfer in than apply as a freshman. Where are you transferring from and why do you want to go to SMU?

I’m transferring from Southern California. I’m applying because I’m hoping to return to Dallas post-college (I grew up in nearby Arlington), and from what I researched, SMU seems to be the way to go for that.

We used to live in the Dallas suburb too. So my son wants to move back. He got accepted into Lyle Engineering school and he loves SMU. He says it is a perfect fit! He also applied to TCU as a back up but SMU is better for him. What are you trying to major in?

I applied to Cox School of Business because I’m majoring in Accounting. If I get accepted and do end up attending, I might pick up a second major in Economics.

I read that Cox is pretty well-connected in the Dallas metro area, so that’s another plus.
