How did you score on your SATs the first time you took them?

<p>My first and only time I only managed a 1990 (M680 CR640 W670) and have been kicking myself for it. If you guys don't mind, can you also include your respective preparatory measures before each?</p>

<p>I only prepped by reading the Princeton Review book the week prior and answering a couple of sections; didn't even finish a whole test. But nonetheless, I still feel stupid--especially going to these forums with geniuses of 2200+.</p>

<p>(Our family can't afford $1000 on SAT prep courses, and I have a job/schoolwork so I can't really prep anymore for the following year.)</p>

<p>Also, is doing practice tests really really beneficial? Logically, it would seem so, but I can't seem to get myself to do them because they require so much analytical stress...eeek!</p>
