How Did You Utilize the Additional Information Section on the Common App?

I'm not really sure what I should put in this section. If you don't mind, can you post some general things you guys put in this section.

I put nothing.

me, too. But you could put anything you want.

I put in things that I wanted to highlight which didn't fit anywhere else. (Unpaid internship, published short story, etc.)

I put nothing (didn't feel there was anything to add that would make a significant difference).

I put down my "Summer Activities" (i.e., assorted programs, volunteer projects) because I didn't want to use up my EC spaces on them...

I just said that the recommendations letters were being sent by snail mail.

I attatched my resume there, since it didn't exactly fit anywhere else, this let me only have to put my major extracurriculars in the other part of the common app. but made sure they knew about my other stuff (i.e. volunteer work)
and i kept it a page--so it wouldn't be too annoying
according to my councelor, this is the normal thing to do

I put nothing also. I didn't think anything else was worth putting on there and I didn't want them to think I was padding my resume.

Didn't use it.

i am using it to explain my citizenship status and family info

did what goldenratiophi did

I used it to list additional APs/Honors

I also attached a scanned copy of a letter from India when I volunteered as a tour guide at a very prestigious monument in New Delhi, and attached it to the end.

Then after that, I attached a copy of a JHU paper that gave me college credit for an Investigations in Engineering course that I mentioned in the main application.

(All this in a PDF)

I put in a proposal that I created for a service program I started.

I'm thinking of putting in a chapter from my unpublished novel. Is 2000 words too long? I'd ask them simply to read however much or little of it they want to.

I'm using it to mention how I helped my grandmother out when she broke her ankle (keeping her company, transporting her laundry, going grocery shopping, etc.) and how I'm currently helping out my great-aunt (grocery shopping, etc.) since she gave me her car. It's about 5 hrs/week, so I thought it was kinda significant.

I used it to submit an essay I wrote for my AP Lang and Comp Class that I felt unusually proud of.

I used it to inform my colleges of my learning disability.

i used it to explain about my math problems and what i did to fix them...well atleast i'm planning to

i attached a resume of things i couldnt fit into my app and a list of college courses already completed
