I get homesick when I go back "home" for the holidays and in-between quarters.

im sorry, but ur involved on campus, no?

I can't imagine myself being homesick, and I don't really see why anyone would want to go home more than 2-3 times a year. It's a big world out there with lots to see, you know.

What if you were to become ill (so ill that you had to be hospitalizied)? what about health ins?

i've been wondering about that too. What about routine stuff like getting your yearly checkup/going to the dentist/etc.?

At any large university you are probobly covered by the campus hospital (on your own insurrance or else on mandatory school insurrance).

For yearly checkups and the dentist, just do it at home.

I had a friend who got surgery a few weeks ago while at school. It was a coincidence that it was the same weekend I came for open house and to visit him. When he scheduled it, he planned on relying only on roomates and friends in the dorms, but it worked out well to have some people from home...I know his mom felt better about not being there! But I thought it just showed how important it is to make good friends at school and not become homesick, because all those friends he made there helped him so much when he needed them.

I dont know how Im going to be cope, but most likely, I wont be seeing my parents for the entire duration of college. My family is moving back to Asia, and my dad wants me to get jobs/interships during the summers. And anyways air tickets are wayyyyyyy to expensive for me to be able to go home every year. :(
